Farm Fresh Flower Care
Customer Guide: How to Give Farm Fresh Flowers the Longest Vase Life
Thank you for choosing farm-fresh flowers! With proper care, you can enjoy their beauty for as long as possible. Follow these simple steps to maximize the vase life of your blooms:
1. Start with a Clean Vase
A clean vase helps prevent bacterial growth that shortens flower life.
Wash your vase with warm, soapy water and rinse thoroughly before use.
2. Use Fresh, Cool Water
Fresh water provides essential hydration for your flowers.
Fill the vase with cool water, avoiding hot or softened water, which may contain harmful salts.
3. Trim the Stems
Cutting stems at a 45-degree angle increases water absorption.
Remove about an inch from the bottom and re-trim every 2-3 days for best results.
4. Remove Submerged Leaves
Leaves in the water create bacteria, which can shorten the lifespan of your flowers.
Gently remove any leaves that fall below the waterline.
5. Change the Water Regularly
Stagnant water leads to bacteria buildup and reduces flower longevity.
Replace the water every 1-2 days and clean the vase when doing so.
6. Use Flower Food (Optional)
Flower food provides nutrients and helps prevent bacteria.
Mix a homemade solution of one teaspoon sugar, a few drops of bleach, and a teaspoon of lemon juice per quart of water.
7. Keep Flowers in an Ideal Environment
Flowers last longer in a cool, shaded area away from heat and direct sunlight.
Avoid placing them near ripening fruits, which release ethylene gas that speeds up wilting.
8. Enjoy Your Beautiful Blooms!
With these simple steps, your farm-fresh flowers will remain vibrant and fresh for as long as possible.
We appreciate your support of locally grown flowers. Enjoy their natural beauty!
Happy Blooming,
